Subcontractors arrive with their own habits and their own harnesses, work for a few weeks, and leave. Classroom induction does not change what someone does at the edge of a slab under schedule pressure.
The structure changes faster than the protection
Edge protection and anchor points lag behind the frame. Between the two there is a period where the work continues and the protection has not yet been installed.
Exposure is intermittent and dispersed
Rebar fixing, formwork, curtain wall and roof work are spread across a site, in short bursts, by small groups. There is no single place for a supervisor to stand.
Enforcement is retrospective
Violations get picked up at the safety meeting, days later, by which time the configuration that caused them has been repeated a hundred times.

What changes on site
Coverage on day one, not after induction
Because the monitor travels with the harness, a gang arriving on site is monitored from its first shift regardless of its own procedures.
One supervisor, whole site
Alerts bring the work front to the safety officer instead of requiring the officer to reach every front, which is what makes coverage scale on a dispersed site.
Objective evidence for the main contractor
Records of harness use and violations by gang and by date, which is what is needed when a subcontractor disputes a safety assessment or a claim.
Behaviour change at the point of work
The buzzer at the worker and the announcement on site create an immediate consequence, which is the mechanism that changes a habit under schedule pressure.
Frequently asked questions
How do we handle a large number of subcontractors?
Units are issued with harnesses rather than assigned to individuals, so coverage follows the kit as gangs rotate. Alert contacts can be configured per gang, so each subcontractor's supervisor receives their own crew's alerts while the main contractor sees the site picture.
What happens on a site without reliable mobile coverage?
Detection and the wearer alarm work offline. Position and supervisor notifications need a network link; where the site has none, notifications queue and deliver when coverage returns, and the local alarm is unaffected.
Is the data usable for our safety reporting?
Yes. Violation and usage records are time-stamped by gang and by work front, so they can be used directly in subcontractor performance reviews and in the evidence file for a construction safety case.
Can it be integrated into our existing site management platform?
Interfaces for third-party platform integration are provided, and on-premise deployment is available if your platform runs inside the main contractor's network.
