Multi-state Smart Safety Harness — SBM3000 Series

One monitor that recognises five different fall-protection devices — pole strap, secondary lanyard, double hook, fall arrester and self-locking device — and detects when any of them is used unsafely.

Multi-state Smart Safety Harness — SBM3000 Series

Overview

Work at height is rarely done with one piece of kit. A lineman may carry a pole strap and a secondary lanyard; a rigger may use a double hook and a fall arrester on the same task. Each device has its own failure mode, and a monitoring system that only understands a standard lanyard will miss most of them.

The SBM3000 was built for that reality. A single control unit manages any combination of five attachment devices and distinguishes more than ten unsafe states — not worn, low anchorage, unclosed hook, entanglement close to the body, leaning on scaffolding, suspended without protection. Recognition is performed on the device by a multi-axis posture sensor with edge computing, which is why it keeps working where the network does not.

Two details stand out in daily use. An optional 110 dB external speaker announces the violation on site, which makes the correction social rather than silent. And with the barometric height calibrator, the unit detects when the wearer passes 2 m and enters monitoring mode automatically — no manual reporting, no missed registrations.

Capabilities

Key features

Five devices, one controller

Any combination of pole strap, secondary lanyard, self-locking device, fall arrester and double hook is supported by a single control unit, so crews are not issued different monitors per tool.

Detailed violation logic

Single and double lanyard high, level and low anchorage; suspended without protection; pole strap supported or unsupported; fall arrester and self-locking device engaged or not engaged. The detection rate is well beyond what visual spot-checking achieves.

Violation alerting

Real-time alarms for a harness that is not worn, low anchorage, loss of protection at height and a hook that is not connected.

Multi-channel notification

Buzzer at the worker; SMS, voice call, WeChat and in-app notification for supervisors, so escalation does not depend on someone being at a desk.

Multi-mode operation

Monitoring and non-monitoring modes can be switched, which keeps the device credible on tasks where harness monitoring is genuinely not applicable.

Automatic height detection

With the barometric calibrator, the unit recognises when the wearer exceeds the configured height (2 m by default) and enters monitoring mode by itself — removing the reporting step that people forget.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Which attachment devices are recognised?

Pole strap, secondary lanyard, self-locking device, fall arrester and double hook — five devices in any combination on a single control unit.

How does automatic height detection work?

A barometric calibrator detects the change in air pressure as the wearer climbs. Once the configured height — 2 m by default — is passed, the unit enters monitoring mode without the worker registering anything. This removes missed registrations entirely rather than reducing them.

Is there an on-site alarm for bystanders, or only for the wearer?

Both are available. The wearer receives a buzzer alarm at 75 dB. An optional external speaker raises the on-site announcement to 110 dB, which is loud enough to be heard on an active construction site and to make the correction visible to the crew rather than private to the individual.

Can the same unit be used across different crews and harness types?

Yes. Because one unit handles five attachment devices and switches between monitoring and non-monitoring modes, a single model can be issued across crews that use different tooling, which simplifies procurement and spares.

What standards does the harness meet?

The supplied harness complies with GB 6095-2021. Where a project specifies ANSI Z359 or EN 361, tell us before ordering and we will confirm the applicable documentation.
