Live areas that do not look dangerous
Switchgear rooms, cable interlayers and substation bays present no visual warning of the hazard. Tape and cones are ignored precisely because nothing about the space looks threatening.
Unmanned for long periods
Substations and remote plant areas are visited intermittently. A breach between visits is not detected at all under any passive arrangement.
Contractors and visitors in transit
Contractors, meter readers and visitors crossing a site may enter areas they have no reason to be in, without any intent to do wrong.
Isolation work that needs a sterile area
During switching and isolation, the working area must remain clear of anyone not part of the task. Ensuring that with a person standing guard is unreliable and expensive.
What we deploy
The most dangerous place on a power site is the one that looks quiet. A substation or switchgear room has no moving parts, no noise and no obvious hazard — which is why people walk into it.

What changes on site
An unattended barrier that actually reports
Passive barriers can only be present or absent. The radar fence detects, identifies whether entry is authorised and reports, which is what makes a boundary meaningful when nobody is standing at it.
Isolation areas kept sterile
During switching and isolation the fence enforces the boundary without consuming a person to do it, and it does so continuously rather than while the guard is watching.
Deployable to where the risk moves
Battery power and a magnetic base mean the fence follows the job — a temporary exclusion zone during a cable pull, then a permanent position at a switchgear room door.
Protection that survives a network outage
Detection logic runs on the device, so a loss of connectivity degrades reporting but not the protection itself.
Frequently asked questions
Does darkness or weather affect it?
No. Millimetre-wave radar does not depend on visible light and performs consistently through rain, dust and temperature variation — the conditions where cameras and infrared barriers degrade.
How does it distinguish permitted staff from intruders?
By Bluetooth tag. Only people wearing an authorised tag can be inside without triggering the alarm. The system verifies authorisation rather than identity, which is the appropriate question at a boundary.
Do we need power and network at the boundary?
Neither. The unit is battery powered for up to 12 working days and detection runs locally. Network connectivity is only needed for remote notification and cloud configuration.
Can one unit cover a whole switchgear room?
Each unit covers 360° horizontally to 6 m. For a larger space or a defined approach, multiple units are positioned so their zones meet. Tell us the layout and we will propose the arrangement.
How is it configured?
From the app — detection range, alarm volume and warning tone, with firmware updated over the air. Changing the configuration does not require a site visit, which matters for remote substations.
