Array Smart Safety Harness — SBM2000 Series

A full-body fall-protection harness that knows whether it is actually being used correctly, and says so — to the worker on the platform and to the safety manager on the ground.

Array Smart Safety Harness — SBM2000 Series

Overview

Fall protection has an enforcement problem rather than an equipment problem. The harness is usually there; the anchor point is frequently not. The classic failure is low anchorage — a lanyard hooked to a point at or below the feet, which converts a short arrest into a long fall. It is difficult to see from the ground, easy to do under time pressure, and almost never caught by spot checks.

The SBM2000 harness carries a high-precision posture sensor and an edge-computing board. It distinguishes between the ways a harness can be attached — high anchorage, level, low, ground, suspended, free-fall and idle — and raises an alarm when the arrangement is unsafe: harness not worn, low anchorage, lanyard not hooked. Detection runs on the device, so it works with no network at all.

The alarm reaches the person who can act on it. The wearer gets a buzzer; the safety manager gets an SMS, a phone call or an app notification. Existing harnesses can be retained — the unit is fitted to the harness you already own rather than replacing it.

Capabilities

Key features

Multi-posture recognition

Classifies harness and lanyard state across high anchorage, level anchorage, low anchorage, ground, violation, suspended, fall and idle postures — the distinctions that matter for arrest distance, not just worn / not worn.

Violation alerting

Raises an alarm for a harness that is not worn, is worn in a low-anchorage configuration, or has no lanyard attached at all.

Edge computing — no network required

The unit computes abnormal states on board and can run completely standalone. This matters on steel erection sites where mobile coverage is poor and network-dependent safety devices quietly fail.

Multi-channel notification

Buzzer for the worker; SMS, voice call, WeChat and in-app notification for supervisors at each level of the safety organisation.

Multi-mode operation

Monitoring and non-monitoring modes can be switched according to the task, so legitimate non-harness work does not generate nuisance alarms that train people to ignore the device.

Dual positioning and dual network

BeiDou / GPS positioning streamed to the cloud platform, with public-network and private-network operation — including three methods of joining an existing private network for on-premise deployment.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between this harness and the SBM3000?

The SBM2000 recognises harness states for a standard full-body harness with lanyard. The SBM3000 adds recognition for five different attachment devices — pole strap, secondary lanyard, double hook, fall arrester and self-locking device — and detects height automatically. Choose the SBM3000 if your crews use a mix of fall-protection tooling.

Does it work without a mobile signal?

Yes. Detection runs on the device using edge computing, so the wearer still receives a buzzer alarm with no network at all. The remote notifications to supervisors require a 4G link or a private network connection.

Do we have to replace our existing harnesses?

No. The unit retrofits to the harnesses you already have, and can be installed by your own team. Many customers start with one crew and a single harness type before rolling out.

How accurate is the positioning?

BeiDou / GPS dual-mode positioning to approximately ±10 m on the public network version. That is enough to locate a worker within a plant area or a tower line section; it is not intended as a centimetre-level tracking system.

What does the harness standard GB 6095-2021 mean for us?

It is the Chinese national standard for full-body harnesses. The harness supplied with the system meets it. If you are procuring against ANSI Z359 or EN 361, tell us which standard applies and we will confirm what additional documentation you need.
