With the continuous development of industrialisation, explosion accidents in confined space operations are becoming more and more frequent, posing a great threat to the safety of people's lives and property. In order to effectively reduce the occurrence of explosion accidents in confined space operations. Confined space operating environment is usually more closed, poor ventilation conditions, when the presence of flammable and explosive gases or dust, it is easy to form explosive mixtures. At this time, if appropriate ventilation measures are not taken, or ventilation measures fail, it will lead to the occurrence of explosion accidents.

Flammable, explosive, toxic and hazardous substances, such as hydrogen sulphide, may be present in confined spaces and may explode or be poisoned in the event of an open flame or contact with oxygen in the air. These substances may be produced by residues containing flammable substances, or by the use of flammable substances, or by chemical action. If the purge and replacement is not thorough, allowing combustible substances to remain in the piping or container, an explosive mixture may be formed.

In the operating environment of confined space, the non-standard use of electricity is also one of the important causes of explosion accidents. Some operators do not use electrical equipment in accordance with the regulations when carrying out operations, or use unsuitable electrical equipment, leading to short-circuiting, overloading and other faults in electrical wiring, which in turn triggers an explosion. If the oxides remaining in the pipeline and the inner wall of the tolerance poison spontaneously combust, it may also trigger an explosion. If isolation and sealing are not reliable, flammable and explosive gases from nearby installations, equipment, pipelines and floor drains may also escape into confined space.

When working in confined spaces, be sure to take appropriate safety measures, such as wearing protective equipment and using safety equipment.
