1.Testing items and frequency: within 30 minutes before operation, the concentration of oxygen, toxic and hazardous gases (e.g. hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, etc.) and flammable and explosive gases in the confined space must be fully tested. During operation, at least one retest is conducted every 30 minutes. For confined spaces with high risk, such as reaction kettles that have stored toxic chemicals, the frequency of testing should be increased appropriately to ensure that abnormal changes in gas concentration are detected in a timely manner.

2.Detection location and method: Detection should be conducted at different heights and locations in the confined space with multiple sampling points to obtain comprehensive and accurate gas information. For example, in a shaft with a large depth, the detection should be carried out at the entrance, center and bottom of the shaft respectively. Use a calibrated gas detector and operate it correctly according to the operating procedures to ensure the reliability of the detection data.

3.Handling of test results: When the test results show that the gas concentration exceeds the safety standard, the operation must be stopped immediately and all personnel must be quickly evacuated from the confined space. Take measures to strengthen ventilation, gas replacement and other measures until the test results are qualified before resuming operations. At the same time, analyze the abnormal detection results, find out the reasons, and take targeted measures to prevent similar situations from recurring.

The criteria for determining operations in confined spaces mainly include factors such as the confined nature of the space, the narrowness of the entrances and exits, ventilation conditions and environmental hazards. When conducting operations in confined spaces, the relevant regulations must be strictly observed to ensure operational safety.
